Capt. Schark has been fishing the waters of Nantucket for his entire life. Even before he could walk his parents would throw him in the boat for sails around the Island. Something about those early trips must have stuck with him since he has since fished water around the world. Offshore fishing is his thing but you can’t put him near a piece of water without him trying to catch something in it.
Capt. Schark saw the need for a new and different kind of charter experience on Nantucket. The waters of Nantucket’s West End around Tuckernuck and Muskeget are stunningly beautiful and teaming with marine life. It has always been tough to get out there because of the shallow waters and difficult navigation. So Capt. Schark designed and built his boat the “Schark Attack” specifically for venturing into these waters. She’s big, safe, Coast Guard Certified for 12 passengers and she can run in less than 2 feet of water. She can even land on the beach and let people off through her front gate just like a WWII landing craft. There’s nothing else like it on Nantucket and maybe even nothing else like it anywhere.
The primary trips that Nantucket Adventures offers are Seal Encounter Cruises to Muskeget. These trips are true eco-adventures just like you would expect from an African Safari in in open top Rover. You are guaranteed to see seals and the seals you see will literally be feet away from the boat. Capt. Schark even gets the kids on the trips to spot the seals just like on the old whaling ships, except instead of yelling “Whale Ho!” the call on the boat is “Seal Ho!” It is a trip that has to be experienced to believed.
Seals and Reels:
Capt. Schark offers his Seal Encounters with the option of doing some light tackle fishing as well. It’s a great way to pack a whole lot of different activities into one trip that is sure to make your whole crew happy. These trips have tons of sights, guaranteed seals, beach exploring and fishing. No other charter on Nantucket offers such a wide variety on their trips.
